- A native Chinese speaker from Taiwan and has a B.A. in Foreign Languages & Literature
- Lived and taught Chinese cooking in Japan & Italy
- Teaches Chinese since 1990 and has been with BCCA since 2010
- A professional translator since 2001
- North Kitsap High School math club sponsor from 2008 to 2013
- Co-authored two Chinese-English language books
- Member of National Language Service Corp [NLSC] and American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language [ACFTL]
