Independent Study for High School Students


High School Student – now you can earn Chinese language credit through independent study with Bainbridge Chinese Culture & Arts.

  • Get approval from school counselor, then sign up at Eagle Harbor High School.
  • Study minimum 90 hours (5 hours per week for 18 weeks) per semester for two semesters.
  • At the end of 2nd semester (Spring) take the ACTFL proficiency exam to get credit toward high school study or for college credit.
  • Bainbridge Chinese Culture & Arts teacher will meet with your school to set up syllabus for your study, and provide assessment of your proficiency progress.

Bainbridge Chinese Culture & Arts is a non-profit organization that provides Mandarin Chinese language training and basic writing skills, and introduce Chinese culture and arts to young students and interested adults on Bainbridge Island and nearby communities in Washington State.
